J L Talks About His Clothes And Going To School

J L talks about the kind of clothes he wore. He wore overalls and long sleeve shirts. He remembers one day he and his sister built a make-shift bridge over a barbed-wire-fence. She fell and cut her arm really bad. Instead of running to the doctor, they ran to the field where their dad was working and then they went into the doctor.

J L remembers the old 2-room school house about a mile from his home. They taught first grade through the eleventh grade. Later the community built a new school building. It still only had 2 rooms but also included a hall/lobby between the rooms. They had some make-shift water fountains.

He talked about taking Spanish later in school. During the interview he seems to accidentally admit to sometimes cheating… but tries to back out of it and quickly change the subject – LOL. His favorite subject were math and spelling, but never really liked history.
