J L Remembers The Model-T and Model-A Cars And His First Non-Farming Job
J L recalls their Model-T car and how the Model-A was a big upgrade.
He talks about his first non-farming job working at a service station. It was about 1935 and paid 50 cents a day plus room and board. You work day lasted from the first car coming down the road until the last one had gone. Gasoline was plentiful and many people would offer it for sale to the station. He explains the (very scientific – LOL) way he would check the quality of the gas being sold.
In 1937 J L got a job with the railroad.
