J L Byars Talks More About His Mom And Childhood Home
J L talks more about his childhood home and how they did not have running water. He and his sisters had daily chores including feeding the livestock and harvesting the vegitables. Everything was used – nothing was wasted.
He said that he was about nine years old when his mother died. He was too young to remember what caused her death, but he remembers that at the same time his sister (Jack) was very sick with a fever. J L remembers his mom churning butter while he and his youngest sister would sneak a bite.
