Doris Recalls Her First Time To Leave Scurry County

Doris talks about her first time to leave Scurry county. Her Uncle Marvin asked her to go on an East Texas trip with him and his girlfriend. Doris was 14 years old at the time.

They went to a county fair. Doris remembers waiting on a bench to give them a little privacy. But she made sure to stay close by.

Doris talks about seeing Dallas / Fort Worth the first time. They were so big – she just could not imaging towns of that size.
